To the Campus Community:
There have been too many recent news items that remind us that our world is not always
as safe as we would like. The tragic shootings and deaths in New York bring this unfortunate
reality close to home. I am grateful to be part of a college community that shares
a collective frustration and deep concern over these acts of violence, while recognizing
the impact we can have in confronting these challenges and in acknowledging the interconnectedness
of all people.
On campus, our outstanding University Police Department is an important point of pride.
Our community policing efforts enable us to connect with members of the campus community
and open lines of communication aimed at preventing tragic events.
In this increasingly challenging environment, it is essential that we continue to
offer understanding and respect for one another, and keep our spirit of community
at the forefront as we support any colleagues in need.
Following are a few resources offered by FSC to provide support and assistance:
University Police Department is available to respond to campus concerns and incidents 24/7/365. In the event of
an emergency, call x2111 from any campus phone or 934-420-2111.
For students:
Office of the Dean of Students offers guidance, assistance, student advocacy services and referrals as well as handling
student concerns and Title IX inquiries. You may reach the Dean of Students by calling
934-420-2104 or by email at dean.students@farmingdale.edu.
Campus Mental Health Services provide a range of free, confidential, professional counseling services for students
as well as any member of the campus community in need of support. Campus mental health
can be reached by phone or email at 934-420-2006 or cmhs@farmingdale.edu.
For faculty and staff:
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) provides counseling, wellness, and work/life services for FSC employees and their
