9/11 Memorial Ceremony
To the Campus Community:
As members of a higher education community in New York, 9/11 is woven into our fabric.
Our collective memories of those dark days bind us and help us reflect on the impact
of an event that changed our nation. By coming together to honor all those we lost
and the countless families impacted, we can support support each other, those directly
touched, and remember all that truly unifies us.
As is happening across the country, we will once again gather in remembrance of this
national disaster, one that continues to pull us together. A memorial ceremony will
be held on Thursday, September 11, in the Campus Center Ballroom. Please plan to arrive no later than 9:45 a.m. to properly honor this important moment.
Our collective spirit of giving to those in need, and supporting those facing challenges,
is reflected in how we recognize the sacrifices and the scars of those still mourning
that terrible day. In the spirit of all that makes Farmingdale a special and caring
place, I hope you will join me in our campus observance.
