Kevin D. Jordan, EdD, Retirement
To the Campus Community:
After nine years at 51Թ and a storied 43-year career in higher
education, Kevin D. Jordan, EdD, has informed me of his decision to retire, effective
October 15, 2025.
During his distinguished career, Kevin has touched the lives of thousands of students,
faculty, and staff across several academic institutions, always putting students first
and recognizing that remarkable talent “awaits to be tapped.” He has served as an
important mentor, colleague, and friend to so many on our campus. I am grateful for
the important work he’s done, the student successes he has enabled, and his unending
dedication to a fairer society. I will miss our many conversations about how to best
serve our campus community and his thoughtful and passionate orations that served
to both educate and inspire.
Continuing our strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusive excellence, we
are considering the best approach moving forward, to ensure that DEIE remains an essential
priority here at FSC, as it remains throughout the SUNY system.
As a parting thought, Dr. Jordan asks that his FSC family always remember that “justice
is what love looks like in public.” Please join me in wishing Dr. Jordan all the best
as he departs New York for his newly built home in North Carolina, and in thanking
him for his many important and impactful contributions to FSC.
