MET 105L Technical Drawing and CAD

This is a laboratory course designed to provide students with hands-on experience in technical drawing and computer aided design (CAD). Students will apply traditional drafting techniques, such as ortho-graphic projection, dimensioning, and tolerancing, though 2D CAD software. Note: Students who have received credits for MET104 cannot receive credit for this course.

Prerequisites: None

Course Learning Outcomes:

  • Students will be able to sketch principle views of a mechanical component and create technical drawings of the component in 2D CAD software.
  • Students will be able to format dimensions in CAD and apply the dimensions on technical drawings.

Textbook: Technical Drawing with AutoCAD, Linus Publication
