I hope you had a chance to rest, recharge, or even catch up on your coursework during
the recent closing. With fall now fully here, the semester is moving quickly, and
it’s natural to feel some academic pressure or even experience homesickness and loneliness.
Please know that you are not alone in these feelings—many students go through the
same challenges. What matters most is that you take care of yourself and reach out
for support when you need it.
Farmingdale has many resources available to help you stay on track. Campus Mental Health Services is here to support you with in-person appointments and telehealth options in certain
situations. They can be reached by phone at 934-420-2006 or by email at cmhs@farmingdale.edu. Our Health and Wellness Center also provides a wide variety of services to help you maintain your overall health
and well-being.
Academically, remember that your faculty members are valuable partners in your success.
Don’t hesitate to connect with them during office hours and ask for guidance if you
are struggling in class. In addition, free tutoring is available through the Center for Academic Success & Tutoring (CAST), which can be an excellent way to strengthen your understanding and build confidence
in your coursework.
This is the perfect time to address any challenges you may be facing so that you can
set yourself up for a strong finish to the semester. Remember, you’ve got this, Rams—and
we are here to help every step of the way.
