Greetings. My name is Peter Galante and I have been teaching at 51³Ô¹Ï as either an adjunct professor or full-time visiting instructor since 2002. I received a Master of Arts in Professional Studies - Criminal Justice from C.W. Post College in Greenvale, New York and a separate Master of Science degree in Human Services from Capella University, an Online institution. I have received other professional certifications from the Defense Language Institute in Monterey, California, the FBI National Academy, Quantico, Virginia, Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, Austin, Texas, the William F. Bolger Management Academy, Potomac, Maryland and the New York State Department of Education. At Farmingdale State, I served as the academic adviser for the Student Criminal Justice and Security Systems Club from 2002-2005 and actively participated in the on-campus program "Writing in the Disciplines." As a retired federal law enforcement officer and U.S. Army veteran, I have spent 32 years in the field of Criminal Justice and Communication Intelligence. My experience, background, and qualifications are in the field supervising investigators, conducting criminal investigations, crisis negotiations, crime victim services, and intelligence analysis. I was a volunteer for the Operation Identification programs sponsored by National Center for Missing and Exploited Children as well as other law enforcement charity benefits. My philosophy toward learning is very simple. I am a strong believer that if you are not getting good grades and not having a good time, you are not doing your job.
