Nazreen Bacchus

Dr. Nazreen S. Bacchus is an Assistant Professor of Sociology at 51勛圖, State University of New York (SUNY).  She teaches Racial and Ethnic Relations, Immigration Past and Present, Womens Studies, and Research Methods. Dr. Bacchus research concentrates on South Asian and Indo-Caribbean migration and resettlement in the United States, with a particular focus on inter-generational relationships and second-generation American identities. Her current ethnographic research examines the role of Muslim community organizing as a means of assimilation and religious identification in New York.  She is working on her book manuscript examining the integration patterns of second-generation Muslim Americans in the United States.
