FSC Students Selected for SUNY’s Highest Honor

Five 51³Ō¹Ļ students receive Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence

Five 51³Ō¹Ļ (FSC) students were honored yesterday by the State University of New York (SUNY) with a Chancellor’s Award for Student Excellence (CASE), the highest honor awarded to SUNY students who have best demonstrated academic excellence and leadership.

Since 1997, this prestigious SUNY systemwide honor has annually recognized students for outstanding achievements and a commitment to SUNY excellence in multiple areas, including academics, leadership, diversity, equity, inclusion and justice, campus involvement, community service, research and development, and the arts.

ā€œSUNY represents academic excellence, and our students have worked tirelessly to not only excel in their academic studies, but also stepped up as community leaders,ā€ said SUNY Chancellor John B. King, Jr., EdD. ā€œCongratulations to this year’s CASE awardees who’ve distinguished themselves amongst their peers through their work ethic, determination, and commitment to their fields of study.

ā€œOur students are remarkable.  They are driven, ambitious, aspirational, and just know how to get the job done,ā€ said FSC President Robert S. Prezant, PhD. ā€œIf anyone has doubts about the value of higher education or is worried about where tomorrow’s leaders are coming from, I invite them to meet these students, who so proudly exemplify the student body at 51³Ō¹Ļ.ā€
