FSC Appoints New Vice President for Development & Alumni Engagement

Joakim Nyoni brings 20 years' experience in advancement to FSC

51Թ (FSC) is pleased to announce that Joakim “Kim” Nyoni has been appointed FSC’s vice president for development and alumni engagement, effective November 3, 2025. Reporting to FSC President Robert S. Prezant, PhD, Nyoni will serve as a member of the President’s Cabinet and provide senior leadership for the College’s fundraising and alumni relations efforts. 

In this role, Nyoni will serve as chief advancement officer for the College, playing a central role in shaping its future philanthropic support and in cultivating meaningful relationships with key stakeholders while helping to grow and nurture corporate partnerships. As a member of the President’s Cabinet, he will also serve as executive director of the Farmingdale Foundation, guiding its fundraising strategy and aligning its mission with FSC priorities. 

A 20-year advancement veteran, Nyoni joins FSC from the University at Buffalo (UB), where he served as senior associate vice president for advancement and campaign co-director. Prior to UB, he was the assistant vice president for advancement at the University of Florida, and associate vice president for development with the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. During his career, he has also been part of advancement teams at the University of Missouri, University of Arizona, Utah State University, and University of California, Berkeley.  

“Kim’s extensive experience, insight, and depth in building successful advancement programs will greatly benefit our campus and help engage donors and alumni in new and innovative ways,” said President Prezant. “He demonstrated a deep understanding of Farmingdale, with high aspirations for the future. He is well-positioned to lead our development initiatives to the next level.”

Nyoni received a Bachelor of Journalism and a Master of Arts in advertising from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He also attended the Institute for Educational Management at the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
