This summer, the RAM Program is offering a unique Alternative Summer Break (ASB) opportunity to give back to our local Long Island communities! Instead of going away on an overnight trip, we are offering three fun and exciting local opportunities. We will still be traveling from campus as a group, dining together, and working together, while staying local.

Alternative Summer Break (ASB) will be held this year from Thursday, May 22nd -Saturday, May 24th! Students will have the opportunity to select what date and service they want to volunteer with. You can select just one or all three.

May 22nd: Island Harvest from 7:45am to 2pm in Melville, NY
May 23rd: ReWild Long Island from 9am to 4pm in Deer Park, NY

May 24th: Habitat for Humanity of Long Island from 7:30am to 4pm, Location TBD on Long Island

WHAT IS ASB?

ASB (Alternative Summer Break) is the Research Aligned Mentorship Program’s dedication to engaging students in service with local, domestic, and international communities. These extended immersive service trips partner with various community organizations to support efforts such as animal welfare, disaster relief, youth education, environmental concerns, quality affordable housing, health care, food security, and poverty alleviation. More information on each of the 3 opportunities can be found in the attached Information Packet, along with cost information and trip requirements.

If you are interested - APPLY BELOW - Application Deadline is Thursday, May 8th. Application decisions will be made on May 9th!
