Patricia Hill Williams

Dr. Patricia Hill Williams, a long-time resident of West Babylon, was appointed Chair of Farmingdale’s College Council in 2013 by Governor Andrew Cuomo. Dr. Williams served at FSC for 25 years before retiring in 2004 as Vice President for External Affairs. She was appointed to the College Council by Governor George Pataki in 2006.

Dr. Williams has a passion for volunteerism.  She is a former board chair of Partners of the Americas, a W.K. Kellogg Fellow in international development and an NGO representative to the UN. Her development skills and activism for women’s issues and education led to four U.S. Presidential appointments on: the Advisory Council for Women and Girls; the Advisory Council for Historically Black Colleges and Universities, the Inter-American Foundation and the African Development Foundation. She was a member of the U.S. delegation to the World Conference on Women in Beijing.

In 2014, Dr. Williams was recognized with the Life Changer Award in Brazil, for 30 years of service to Partners of the Americas, an inter-american organization dedicated to uniting peoples across borders in areas such as agriculture, sports, higher education, governance, and climate change. 

Dr. Williams has been honored as a Distinguished SUNY Alumna, and a Woman of Distinction by the New York State Senate. She is a member of the SUNY Council for University Advancement Hall of Fame and listed in Who’s Who Among American Women.  She earned a doctorate in Higher Education Administration at California Coast University, masters degrees from both NYIT, SUNY/Stony Brook, a certificate in management from Harvard Graduate School of Education and she is a graduate of SUNY Old Westbury.
