As a designated Bee Campus, 51³Ô¹Ï is committed to conserving pollinators, enhancing and protecting our campus' habitats, and promoting biodiversity. All of these efforts are made by avoiding toxic pesticides, fertilizers, or sprays that may harm our pollinators or wildlife.

Pollinator Friendly Pest Management

Some of the ways in which you can help to protect pollinators while controlling insect pests are:

• Don’t treat crops or plants in bloom. Never spray on or near open flowers.
• Use the least toxic pesticide. Select pesticides that have a low impact and risk to pollinators. In general, dusts are more hazardous than sprays. 
• Apply pesticides when bees are not actively foraging.
• Know where bee colonies are in your area. 
• Follow Integrated Pest Management principles.
