If your transfer/AP credits are not approved for EGL 101, the GSP will appear on your RAM portal.

If your transfer/AP credits are approved, and you have confirmed in OASIS, then you can disregard communications about taking the GSP and contact your advising department for next steps.

Continue to check your for updates to your checklist.

SAT scores and Advanced Placement courses do not factor into GSP eligibility.

*Note: the Guided Self-Placement (GSP) survey is only available to eligible students who enrolled at FSC starting with the Fall 2024 semester. Students who are eligible to take the placement test and matriculated prior to Fall 2024 must take a written placement test by contacting the Writing Center at writingcenter@farmingdale.edu

Students who do not pass EGL 101E must retake the course.

Most first-time students are placed in mathematics courses based upon their performance in high school and on New York State Regents Examinations in Math. A transfer student who has received credit for mathematics courses taken at another college will be placed at the highest Math Placement (MP) level satisfied by either those courses or by the student’s high school Regents/precalculus performance.
