Freedom of Expression
Freedom of Expression
As an institution of higher education, 51³Ô¹Ï encourages and welcomes healthy dialog and exchange of ideas. FSC strives to ensure that all members of our community are validated and supported, consistent with our commitment to students’ emotional and physical well-being. At the same time SUNY and FSC have set policies in place to ensure a productive and safe environment for all to learn, teach, work, live, and engage as a part of our community. Informed discussions are part of what we do as a college, but it is essential that these discussions are consistent with our time, place, and manner principles. While members of the campus community have the right to express themselves, all have a responsibility and an obligation to follow and comply with established University and College policies, state law, and the rights of others. The Freedom of Expression & Assembly Student Policy and Procedures provides meaningful opportunities for members of our community to express their views without interfering with the safety and security or regular operations of our campus community.
For additional support, we direct you to the to ensure your concerns are shared directly with the appropriate office. Let’s work together to create an environment where self-expression is carefully balanced with sharing our diverse perspectives in collaborative and respectful ways.
