Final Exams

Final examinations must be taken during the assigned hours listed in the published exam schedule.

The exam time is to be used for issuing final exams and not to make up class time.

Exams are held in your regularly scheduled classroom (with the exception of the Physics Community Exam) unless other accommodations are made with the Registrar's Office.

Note to Instructors:

If your class is assigned to two different rooms during the semester (for example: Monday- GLSN 222 and Wednesday- GLSN 320), please contact the Registrar's Office directly for your final exam room assignment. These circumstances have to be reviewed on an individual basis. Instructors with questions about their regularly scheduled classroom should contact the Registrar's Office no later than April 15th for Spring exams and November 15th for Fall exams.

If you need to make up missed class time outside of the scheduled Study Day or Make-Up Day, please contact the Registrar's Office.

For classes that meet three times a week, please use the exam time based on the two day a week assignment. For example, a class that meets M/W/F at 8am will follow the M/W 8am exam scheduled time block.

When time conflicts with scheduled exams arise (for example, a student is registered for two courses assigned to the same exam day/time slot), it is the instructors responsibility to meet with the affected student and come up with an alternate time for when the exam can be administered to that individual student. If the student is available and the instructor is not, a proctor may be assigned to administer the exam with the approval of the Chairperson or Dean.

Examination time and date for classes that meet on an irregular schedule will be scheduled during the exam class time closest to the current class meeting times. These exams may have adjusted times because of conflicts, always consult with the instructor.

For example: if your class is scheduled on M at 8:00-9:50 your exam schedule falls during class meeting times of 8:00am-9:15am.

Any major conflicts within the exam schedule must be brought to the attention of the Registrar's Office by no later than the established deadlines.

REMINDER: All grades must be submitted 72 hours following the final exam.

Final Exam Schedule for Fall 2025

Hybrid sections-The day and time that a hybrid course meets in person should determine the final exam date and time. For example, if a hybrid class is scheduled for T/R 8:009:15 and meets in person on Tuesdays, it should follow the final exam schedule for T/R 8:009:15. The remaining portion of the course takes place online and does not affect the final exam schedule.

If students in your class have a conflict with the scheduled final exam date, please contact the Registrars Office to explore alternative exam dates. Alternatively, you may choose to work directly with the affected students to resolve the conflict.

Synchronous Classes will hold their final exam remotely at the scheduled exam time

For online classes, the instructor will announce the exam time; should the announced time conflict with another scheduled on-campus exam, the online instructor must make the accommodation.

The Physics Community Exam will be held on Tuesday, Dec 16th from 10:20pm-1:00pm. Please speak with your Physics instructor to finalize and confirm the exam room assignment

Combination theory (T) and lab (L) courses: Follow the chart above based on your THEORY class meeting times. For example: If BIO 170T meets on M/W but your BIO 170L meets on T, your exam will be based on your theory class time of M/W.
