LGBTQIA+ Employee Affinity Group
Mission:
The LGBTQIA+ Employee Affinity Group aims to foster belonging, awareness, and support for faculty and staff on campus who identify as LGBTQIA+. The LGBTQIA+ Employee Affinity Group seeks to increase awareness and advocacy for the diverse needs of FSC’s LGBTQ+ community through educational, cultural, and social activities in partnership with the Pride Club. The group aligns FSC’s inclusive excellence and strategic goals, as well as provides leadership in addressing FSC’s LGBTQIA+ faculty and staff issues.

Vision:
The LGBTQIA+ Faculty & Staff affinity group envisions itself to be a leading organization at FSC to foster an inclusive, just, and equitable community in which LGBTQIA+ members are valued, connected, supported, and empowered to reach their fullest potential.

Goals and Action Items
Goal 1. Connect and support LGBTIA+ identifying employees and their allies at FSC.
- Build an inclusive community on campus
- Increase LGBTQIA+ identifying members' visibility in and outside FSC.
- Address LGBTQIA+ members' concerns and needs.
Goal 2. Support LGBTQIA+ identifying students' academic success at FSC.
- Identify and address barriers for LGBTQIA+ students’ academic success at FSC.
- Support Pride Club activities.
Goal 3. Promote supportive and healthy personal and professional development opportunities at FSC.
- Organize events for LGBTQIA+ faculty, staff and students on campus in partnership with the Pride Club during LGBTQIA+ awareness events including National Coming Out Week, Transgender Remembrance Month, Pride Week, and more.
- Promote educational, cultural, and social events for LGBTQIA+ Affinity Group members.
