FSC Study Abroad Opportunities
Faculty Led Programs are custom-made study abroad experiences created by FSC professors. Offered during
the Summer or Winter terms, FLPs are an excellent way to earn General Education credits,
or credits for specialized courses in areas such as business, engineering, or nursing.
- Winter 2025-26. World Class Seminar in Ghana: You are invited to Africa! Prof. Kwame Insaidoo Jr. will lead in an immersive seminar (HIS 319 - Ghanaian Culture and Society) in Ghana with visits to Accra, the Elmina Castle, Kakum National Park, and fishing villages. Tentative dates: December 19, 2025 - January 3, 2026.
- Summer 2026 in Taiwan: Building upon our successful Summer 2025 program, you'll explore Chinese Culture and Civilization (MLG 321) with prof. Qing Ai on this 12-day adventure. The course takes place in Taiwan, where you will experience Taipei, Hsinchu and other locations. Visits to the National Palace Museum, Sun Moon Lake, and the TSMC Museum of Innovation provide fantasic insights into Taiwanese culture, nature, and technology. There is an optional 3-day excursion to Tokyo at an additional cost. May 30 - June 11, 2026.
- Summer 2026 in South Italy: Discover Puglia, one of the most authentic regions of Italy! Study Sustainable Innovation (STS 391) with prof. Francesca Polo, and Italian language, taught by a professor of our partner institution, Libera Universita' Mediterranea. July 5 - August 1, 2026.
- Summer 2026 in Finland. Study BUS 395 Creativity and Innovation in Organizations with prof. Betty Feng at Vaasa University, August 1-16, 2026. Experience the Löyly public sauna in Helsinki, the UNESCO-listed archipelago, and visits to companies like West Energy and The Switch, while enjoying authentic Finnish traditions.
- Summer 2026 Nursing Practicum in Nepal led by prof. Tesi Thomas. The FSC Nursing Team will work alongside Manna mission and members of the local community of Kathmandu to provide medical and community services to individuals with limited access. These experiences offer students the opportunity to serve others while applying their nursing skills in real-world settings to meet community needs.

- Summer 2025. World Class Internship in Edinburgh: Ah, Scotland! Join this overseas internship in Edinburgh led by prof. Brian O'Keefe. August 1-16, 2025. Next internship in Summer 2027.
Semester and Summer Programs with FSC's Overseas Partners: FSC offers and semester and/or summer programs in Scotland, Cyprus, Italy, France, and Spain. The programs in Nicosia and Florence are open to all SUNY students.
- Edinburgh Napier University, Scotland. Choose from a wide variety of courses in the Fall and Spring semesters. Liberal Arts & Sciences, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Health/Nursing.
- University of Nicosia, Cyprus: Semester or Summer programs on this stunning Mediterranean island! UNIC offers a wide array of courses Liberal Arts & Sciences, Business, Engineering, Computer Science, Health/Nursing.
- Florence University of the Arts (FUA), Italy: Summer opportunity with 3 and 6 week programs. Many courses in the Humanities, Social Sciences, Business and Communications.
- University of Rennes, France: semester-long exchange program for Business and Economics majors.
- University "Ramon Llull" in Barcelona, Spain: semester-long exchange program for Business and Economics majors.
